Morocco Extradites Top UK Drug Trafficking Suspect to British Authorities

British authorities have thanked the Moroccan police for the arrest at Marrakech airport and the extradition of the most wanted fugitive in the country.
Fruitful collaboration between the Moroccan authorities and their British counterparts. On Wednesday, Morocco handed over Alex Male, a 32-year-old man, who was the subject of an Interpol red notice, to the British security services. The latter had been actively searching for him for more than four years for his alleged criminal activities related to drug trafficking and money laundering.
"I would like to thank our partners at the DGSN of Morocco for their tenacious work in locating and arresting Male," said David Hucker, regional head of international operations at the National Crime Agency (NCA). He also expressed his commitment to relentlessly tracking down British fugitives with the help of international partners.
After his arrival in the United Kingdom, Alex Male faces justice in his country. The first hearing was held on Thursday at the Exeter Magistrates’ Court in southwest England. Detained, he will appear before the city’s Crown Court on September 5, 2024.
