Morocco to Extradite Murder Suspect to Malta for Trial in Apartment Killing Case

The extradition of a 37-year-old suspect wanted for a murder that occurred in Santa Luċia last March from Morocco to Malta will take place in the coming days.
The arrest of Samir A. took place in Casablanca a few days after the murder of Victor McKeon, a 62-year-old man whose decomposing body was found wrapped in a garbage bag in the bathroom of his apartment, reports Times Of Malta. All extradition procedures have been exhausted, paving the way for his immediate extradition to be tried in Malta.
The suspect is said to have shared the apartment with the victim when the murder took place. A nauseating odor from the apartment alerted the building’s residents. They in turn alerted the authorities. The victim’s face showed multiple lacerations. He likely died of suffocation.
According to police sources, the Covid-19 health crisis had meanwhile slowed down the extradition process. This process has recently resumed, and Samir is expected to be extradited from Morocco to Malta before the end of the week.
