Morocco Extends Night Curfew as Part of Ongoing COVID-19 Lockdown

The night curfew introduced on April 25 will be lifted at the same time as the lockdown extended until June 10.
On Wednesday, May 20 at 6 p.m., Morocco started a new phase of confinement. And even if when announcing its extension, it was not specified that the curfew would follow the same fate, relatively well-informed sources indicate that this measure has been renewed and citizens, except for valid reasons, are called upon to stay at home between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. "This is a measure that is an integral part of the state of health emergency in force in our country," the sources approached by le360 emphasize.
It will remain mandatory for citizens, just like wearing a mask and exceptional travel authorizations. However, the curfew is not mandatory for those who have to leave their homes for health reasons or for professional reasons, such as health personnel, agents and auxiliary authorities.
Since it was introduced, the curfew has been modified only once. Initially, it covered from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. It was modified on the eve of the month of Ramadan, to be held from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. No information has yet circulated on the possibility of a rearrangement after Ramadan, the same source specifies.
