Morocco Extends Nationwide Curfew and COVID-19 Restrictions Amid New Virus Variants

Morocco has extended by two weeks the restrictive measures adopted on January 13 and the curfew, starting this Tuesday at 9 p.m. This extension comes on the basis of the recommendations of the technical committee to counter the coronavirus, according to a government statement.
According to the statement, this decision was made following the appearance of new variants of the virus and is part of the ongoing efforts to fight the spread of the pandemic and curb its negative repercussions.
In addition to the curfew imposed nationwide from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., except in exceptional circumstances, restaurants, cafes, shops and large stores must close at 8 p.m. As for parties and gatherings, they remain strictly prohibited.
