Morocco Extends Nationwide COVID-19 Curfew and Restrictions for Two More Weeks

Morocco has decided to extend the restrictive measures across the national territory for an additional two weeks, in order to counter the spread of the coronavirus and limit its negative repercussions.
The government has decided to extend the national curfew and other restrictions announced on January 13 for an additional two weeks starting Tuesday, February 16 at 9 pm, according to a press release.
The curfew is in effect nationwide from 9 pm to 6 am, except for exceptional circumstances. Other measures include the closure of restaurants, cafes, shops and large stores every day at 8 pm and the ban on parties and gatherings. All other previously enacted restrictions remain in effect.
This decision comes based on the recommendations of the scientific and technical commission regarding the need to maintain the necessary measures to fight Covid-19, particularly after the appearance of new variants of the virus in neighboring countries, the same source specifies. Similarly, it is part of the ongoing efforts to counter the spread of the pandemic and limit its negative repercussions.
