Morocco Extends Eid al-Fitr Holiday for Public Sector Workers

The Moroccan government has taken an exceptional measure by deciding to grant an additional day off to civil servants on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which should take place in Morocco on Saturday, April 22.
Thus, Monday, April 24 will be a non-working day for public administrations and local authorities. This decision is based on Article 2 of Decree No. 2-05-916 of 13 Jumada II 1426 (July 20, 2005), which sets the schedules and working days in public administrations and local authorities, as amended by Decree No. 2-18-880 of 29 Safar 1440 (November 8, 2018).
The date of Eid al-Fitr in Morocco has not yet been announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, but according to astronomical calculations, it should take place on Saturday, April 22.
