Morocco Extends COVID-19 State of Emergency Until August 31

Morocco has decided to extend the state of health emergency until August 31, in order to deal with the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The Council of Government was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch. During this weekly meeting, a draft decree extending the validity period of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory until August 31, 2022 was approved.

This latest extension of the state of health emergency will notably ensure the effectiveness of the measures taken in the fight against the prolongation of the pandemic, it is specified.
For the record, this draft decree grants the government authority in charge of the Interior to take, in light of the epidemiological situation, all appropriate measures at the national level.
