Morocco Extends COVID-19 State of Emergency Amid Vaccination Progress

Morocco has just extended the state of health emergency until April 10. This 12th extension of the state of health emergency is part of the government’s efforts to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a statement from the Executive.
This decision, validated by the government council on the proposal of the Minister of the Interior, comes as the epidemiological report continues to show a downward trend and more than a month after the launch of the national campaign to fight against coronavirus. To date, the kingdom has already vaccinated more than 3.7 million Moroccans for the first dose and 360,689 people for the second dose.
Based on the available data concerning the epidemiological situation at the level of each province, the walis and governors are invited to take all the necessary procedural measures to preserve public health order, whether they are of a predictive, preventive or protective nature.
