Morocco Extends COVID-19 Emergency Amid Vaccine Rollout and Declining Cases

The government has just extended for the 11th consecutive time the state of health emergency until March 10. This measure comes as the epidemiological report continues to show a downward trend and nearly a week after the launch of the national vaccination campaign.
This decision is part of the efforts to fight the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. After several months of waiting, Morocco has received 2.5 million vaccine doses (2 million doses of AstraZeneca and 500,000 doses of Sinopharm). A few days ago, the national vaccination campaign was launched by King Mohammed VI.
As of February 4, the kingdom has 473,047 cases of contamination, including 451,780 recovered people and 8,323 deaths since the start of the epidemic in March last year.
