Morocco Extends COVID-19 Aid to Press, Tourism, and Cultural Sectors Through March

The Economic Monitoring Committee (CVE), meeting this Wednesday, January 6 in Rabat, validated five new program contracts (press, catering, cultural and creative industries, private sports halls and nurseries). During this meeting, the flat-rate monthly allowance of 2,000 dirhams granted to CNSS affiliates was extended until March 31.
In a press release, the CVE explained that these support measures enacted for certain sensitive sectors have been extended to preserve jobs. To formalize this decision, an amendment to the program contract for the revival of the tourism sector was signed.
In addition to this program contract for the tourism sector, four others were also concluded, in the press sector, cultural and creative industries, private sports halls and nurseries. They concern social and economic support measures and advocate for the preservation of employment and support for entrepreneurial activity in these sectors.
In addition, another program contract was signed to support restaurateurs, affiliated with the CNSS and who have been impacted by the anti-Covid measures. It has been in effect since January 1, 2021.
