Morocco Extends Closure of Bars and Nightclubs as COVID-19 Restrictions Ease

The new deconfinement measures, which will come into effect in Morocco from Thursday, June 25 at midnight, do not concern alcohol outlets, nightclubs and restaurants with live music.
According to an official source at the Ministry of the Interior, interviewed by the MAP, the three aforementioned activities are not authorized to open and will have to remain closed until further notice.
In a joint press release, the Ministries of the Interior, Health and Trade and Industry had authorized cafes and restaurants to resume their activities from next Thursday, without exceeding 50% of their capacity.
New easing of health confinement measures have been introduced as part of phase II of the deconfinement plan implemented by the Moroccan government.
