Morocco Expropriates Farmland for High-Speed Rail Expansion from Kenitra to Marrakech

The government has decided to expropriate dozens of agricultural lands in the provinces of Kenitra and Essaouira for the construction of the high-speed line (LGV) connecting Marrakech to Kenitra.
Decision No. 397.25 of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, recording the expropriation for public utility of ten plots in the province of Essaouira, for the extension of the high-speed line between Kenitra and Marrakech, was published in issue no. 7385 of the Official Bulletin. For the record, the minister had already expropriated nearly 400 plots in the Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra and Marrakech-Safi regions, as well as 20 others in the Mers Sultan district of Casablanca as part of this project.
