Morocco Experiences Unexpected Time Change as Devices Automatically Switch to Winter Time

The return to GMT time on smartphones and computers on Sunday, October 27, surprised Moroccans, especially those who had to go to work.
The time change occurred at 3 a.m., when it automatically went back to 2 a.m. on all mobile phones of all telecommunications operators in Morocco, reports Hespress.
According to the same source, the return to GMT time was scheduled for the last week of October. Before the adoption of summer time all year round (GMT+1), the official time in Morocco usually returned to GMT time on the last Sunday of October, the same source specifies.
According to a Maroc Telecom official, the time change is not the responsibility of telecommunications operators. Also, he explained, users have the ability to manually change the time on their smartphones.
The same source assured that [Maroc Telecom>word10] has been in contact with Google and smartphone providers in Morocco, following the decision to maintain GMT+1 time all year round. The goal is to make the necessary changes to their settings "but it will take time".
Even though the Ministry in charge of Public Administration and Civil Service Reform has completed the evaluation studies related to the definitive adoption of GMT+1 time, the Government has not yet given the green light.
