Morocco Expands Use of Chloroquine for COVID-19 Treatment Nationwide

The Moroccan Ministry of Health has generalized chloroquine treatment for Covid-19 patients.
This is an important step that the kingdom has just taken in the fight against Covid-19. It comes a few days after Moroccan doctors recommended generalizing the treatment with chloroquine and azythromycin given the "weakness of the number of biological tests".
The new instructions have been given to health officials, in a note published and signed by the Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb.
Thus, it is recommended to healthcare personnel to start treatment with hydroxychloroquine and azythromycin, in any symptomatic possible Covid-19 case, without waiting for the virology result, while considering its discontinuation if the test proves negative. It is also requested to perform a control test by laboratory on day 9 and then on day 10 for non-hospitalized patients at the level of intensive care and resuscitation units, in order to declare recovery.
The same test will have to be applied to hospitalized patients at the level of intensive care and resuscitation units, in order to verify the effectiveness of the first-line protocol and consider the second-line one if necessary, concludes the same note.
