Morocco Expands Road Safety with 522 Advanced Traffic Radars

522 new generation radars have been introduced on Moroccan roads to strengthen road safety and combat various offenses.
The number of radars has increased from 120 to 672 in 2022, according to the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA). The new radars are capable of recording several types of violations thanks to speed control, overtaking and compliance with traffic lights. Thanks to their performance, they will facilitate the task of road control agents of the National Security and the Royal Gendarmerie, as they can detect several vehicles simultaneously, reports SNRTnews.
According to the same source, the data will then be processed at the National Offense Processing Center in Rabat. Sworn controllers will be responsible for detecting offenses, taking pictures and identifying the vehicle owner.
