Morocco Expands Military Conscription Program by 50% Following High Volunteer Turnout

While 10,000 conscripts for military service were expected, directives from King Mohammed VI would have been behind the increase in this number, which is now 15,000 conscripts for the first group.
The enthusiasm of the volunteers would have motivated this royal decision to increase the number of conscripts planned for this year by 50%. Indeed, 10,000 were expected, and now 15,000 are expected. This is according to information published on the FAR-Maroc Facebook account.
According to this source, 80,000 Moroccans (including 24,000 women) have voluntarily submitted their applications to perform military service this year. But it should be noted that the number of young women called up will be significantly lower than the number of men.
Thus, on the Facebook account of Far-Maroc, it can be read: "Among these 15,000 conscripts, 1,100 will be young women. And these people will be distributed between the social services of Témara and the barracks of the air and naval forces."
Finally, it should be noted that the census operation will end on June 7. It began on April 9.
