Morocco Expands Health Insurance to Cover COVID-19 Treatment Costs

To deal with the health crisis due to the coronavirus, the health authorities have taken various measures, including the reimbursement and coverage of Covid-19 through the Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO).
In a press release, the National Health Insurance Agency (ANAM) reminds that a therapeutic protocol has been approved by the health authorities and the Minister of Health. It has been widely disseminated to the AMO management bodies (CNOPS-CNSS), health professionals and all the actors of the basic medical coverage in Morocco with the pricing grid of the benefits. Each benefit and each clinical category are set by a pricing grid according to each sector of activity (public and private).
The same document specifies that this evolving protocol presents all the clinical cases and the necessary examinations for the diagnosis and monitoring of Covid-19 as well as the related treatments.
According to ANAM, "the reimbursement and coverage will be done according to the regulations and the referential in force, in particular the national agreements, the nomenclatures of the acts and the guide of the reimbursable medicines".
