Morocco Expands Health Emergency Powers Amid Ongoing Crisis

The health crisis is on the agenda of the Government Council this Thursday. On this, a press release from the Head of Government announces the approval of the decree-law supplementing the decree-law relating to the adoption of new measures relating to the state of health emergency in the Kingdom.
At this Council, indicates the press release of the Department of the Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, three other draft laws are also on the agenda: the draft law relating to the reorganization of the Casablanca financial center. The implementation of exceptional measures concerning the fines to be paid to recover the possibility of issuing checks will be the subject of the third draft law.
The fourth and final draft law concerns the implementation of exceptional measures for the benefit of certain employers affiliated with the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and their declared employees, as well as for the benefit of certain categories of self-employed workers and non-salaried persons insured with the CNSS and affected by the consequences of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, details the same source.
The Council will then examine a draft decree, relating to the quality and health safety of canned and semi-preserved vegetables on the market; then a second, amending the decree relating to the creation of a temporary directorate within the Ministry of Equipment and Transport to supervise the realization of the new port of Safi.
In accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution, the Council will conclude its work by examining proposals for appointments to senior positions, concludes MAP.
