Morocco Expands Firefighting Fleet with Three New Canadair Water Bombers

On the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has ordered new Canadair CL 415 water bombers.
Strengthening its fleet of firefighting. This is the full scope of the acquisition by Morocco of three Canadair CL-415 aircraft from Bombardier Aerospace in Canada. On its Facebook page, the FAR-Maroc military forum specifies that these three aircraft will have to be delivered to the kingdom as early as next year. This new arrival will bring the number of Canadairs the country has to eight. Morocco had acquired five Canadairs in 2011.

Canadair CL-415 is an amphibious water bomber aircraft specialized in firefighting. Equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF turboprop engines, the aircraft cruises at a maximum speed of 359 km/h. It can refuel at sea in a river, lake or reservoir in 12 seconds. It can also perform other missions: search, rescue and transport of people or goods.
