Morocco Expands Drone Fleet with 6 New Turkish Bayraktar TB2s

Morocco has received six new Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones, after an initial order of 13 drones last April.
A new batch of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 military drones has been delivered to Morocco, after the reception at the end of September of the first order of 13, reports the Spanish specialized site Defensa. Morocco will have to receive a second batch of six drones in 2022.
The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) had ordered 13 Bayraktar TB-2 drones from the Turkish company Baykar, a company led by Selçuk Bayraktar, the husband of Sümeyye, the youngest daughter of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This first order was delivered to the Moroccan armed forces on September 24.
Unmanned and armed with MAM-L ammunition, a laser and GPS/INS guided bomb of 22 kilograms, the Turkish drone flew over the sky of Laâyoune in the Moroccan Sahara on November 11. This test was planned in the purchase contract concluded between the two parties.
The Bayraktar TB-2s are MALE (medium altitude long endurance) drones with an autonomy of more than 24 hours. These devices will not only allow the FAR to modernize but also to prepare to face any danger.
