Morocco Expands Diplomatic Presence in South Korea with Two New Consulates

In addition to its embassy in Seoul, Morocco has opened two general consulates in South Korea. These are the consulates of the cities of Daegu and Incheon.
These diplomatic representations were respectively inaugurated on November 5 and 9, on the sidelines of the commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the Green March, reports the MAP.
On this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador to South Korea, Chafik Rachadi, estimated that the opening of these two diplomatic representations is of paramount importance and testifies to the constant development of relations between the two countries since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations in 1962, as well as the desire to promote the rapprochement between the various political and economic actors and to consolidate the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, in all areas.
Thus, businessman Hyun Chang-Seung has been appointed honorary consul of the Kingdom of Morocco in the city of Incheon. The new diplomat holds the position of president of Hands Corporation, the largest South Korean investor in Morocco, with an investment of more than $470 million.
In Daegu, Sung Gum-Hwa has been appointed honorary consul of the Kingdom. He is a businessman, civil society actor and president of the Morocco-Korea Association, who has several awards and distinctions to his credit.
