Morocco Expands COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility to Seniors 60-64 and Chronically Ill

As of Wednesday, February 24, Moroccans aged between 60 and 64, as well as people with chronic diseases, will be able to receive their dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. The announcement was made on Sunday by the Ministry of Health.
As the national vaccination campaign progresses, the Ministry of Health is trying to expand vaccination to at-risk people. This time, it is people aged 60-64 and the first tranche of people with chronic diseases, including cancers, and who benefit from compulsory medical coverage schemes (CNOPS, CNSS) and RAMED who will be taken into account.
In a press release, the Ministry of Health calls on citizens belonging to the targeted categories to make themselves available to receive their dose and thus help achieve collective immunity. They are invited to send an SMS to the toll-free number 1717 or to consult the site liqahcorona.ma to find out the date and place of vaccination.
However, the ministry insists that vaccination should not be a sign of relaxation and asks Moroccans to continue to comply with preventive measures before, during and after the anti-Covid 19 vaccination operation, especially with the appearance of new variants in Morocco. Vigilance and caution must therefore be maintained, the ministry recalled.
