Morocco Expands COVID Vaccination to Children 12 and Up, Aiming for Safe School Return

Morocco has decided to extend its vaccination campaign up to the age of 12. This phase should start at the latest in the last week of August. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine adapted to this age group is expected this Friday.
The kingdom wants to achieve the feat of vaccinating the entire school population aged 12 and over, in order to be able to ensure a return under the best health conditions and also increase the share of face-to-face teaching, said Dr. Said Afif, member of the Scientific Committee on Anti-Covid Vaccination.
For this, new vaccine deliveries including 600,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine expected this Friday, will be intended for the vaccination of 12-17 year olds, including students, he said, adding that this age group is often affected by the Delta variant.
