Morocco Expands COVID-19 Restrictions to New Cities as Cases Rise

One by one, the Moroccan prefectures are proceeding to strengthen health security measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Inezgane Ait Melloul has been under new restrictive measures since Saturday.
The Provincial Committee for Epidemiological Vigilance of the Prefecture of Inezgane-Aït Melloul has decided that supermarkets, neighborhood shops and cafes must close at 10:00 p.m. Restaurants will have to cease all activity at 11 p.m.
Regarding parks, neighborhood fields, public gardens, sports halls and game rooms, the committee has decided that they will cease to operate until further notice. Apart from that, any unauthorized public gathering is prohibited.
As for production units, they are called upon to regularly disinfect their premises and to scrupulously respect the preventive measures, especially distancing. They must provide their workers with protective equipment and give them the opportunity to be tested for screening before resuming.
Movements to and from Inezgane, Aït Melloul, Dechira Jihadia, Keliâa, Tamsia and Oulad Daho will only be made upon presentation of a document duly signed by the local authorities.
