Morocco to Expand COVID-19 Vaccination to Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women

Pregnant and breastfeeding women will soon be included in the Covid-19 vaccination program in Morocco. The option was discussed by the vaccination scientific committee on Monday, July 26, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Khalid Aït Taleb.
This choice was made due to the observation of an increase in infections among pregnant women, several of whom have had serious cases, as stated by the Minister of Health, noting that until now, pregnant and breastfeeding women were excluded from the operation. The issue was addressed during an extraordinary meeting of the scientific and technical committee in charge of the Covid-19 vaccination, focusing on innovations to be introduced in the national vaccination strategy.
Thus, the specialists now want to integrate this category of women into the vaccination campaign, at the end of their third month of pregnancy and in accordance with the current scientific standards. The official announcement should be made very soon.
