Young Moroccans called up for military service, which is due to begin at the end of next year, will be exempt from income tax (IR).
Thus, the 2019 Finance Act provides for the exemption from income tax on all allowances paid to young recruits during the twelve months of their service within the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
Next September, some 10,000 young people are due to join the army, said the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Abdellatif Loudiyi, who specified that the service was optional for young Moroccans living abroad and for women.
It should be noted that the Finance Act has provided 500 million dirhams to cover the cost of military service.
