Morocco Evacuates Over 200 Citizens from Sudan Amid Escalating Conflict

Morocco has decided to repatriate its nationals present in the Republic of Sudan, following the deterioration of the security situation in this country.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, King Mohammed VI has given instructions to ensure their safe return.
In a first step, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Sudan organized a land convoy of more than 200 Moroccan citizens residing there or whose presence in the country coincided with this internal situation. This convoy headed towards Port Sudan, after leaving the capital Khartoum.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies that this land convoy has safely arrived at its destination this evening.
