Morocco Ensures Adequate Food Supply for Ramadan, Minister Reports

A few weeks before the start of the Ramadan month, the Moroccan market is sufficiently supplied with basic and essential products to meet the needs of citizens. This is what Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of the Interior, in charge of monitoring the supply and prices of these products in preparation for the holy month, indicated on Tuesday.
During a videoconference meeting devoted to the evaluation and monitoring of the national market supply situation and the prices of basic products, and attended by the Ministers of Agriculture, Industry, Trade and Green Economy, the Delegate Minister to the Minister of the Interior, the Walis of the regions and the Governors of the prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, affirmed, in view of the current supply situation, that Moroccans have an abundant and varied supply of basic and essential products to spend a good Ramadan 1442, reports the MAP.
The prices of these products are mostly stable, indicates a press release issued at the end of the meeting, which nevertheless notes a relative drop in the prices of vegetables, red meats, legumes and dried fruits, and a relative increase in the prices of edible oils, white meat and eggs. The government has taken all measures to ensure the permanent availability, in sufficient quantity, in quality and at reasonable prices, of essential products on the national market, the statement said.
