Morocco Emerges as Top Destination for Israeli Tourists Following Diplomatic Normalization

Morocco has assets that seduce Israeli tourists. These include the desert, seaside resorts, heritage, monuments, folklore, gastronomy, architecture, hospitality, hotels, crafts, souks, spices, ksours, oases, proximity to Europe, gateway to Africa, high-speed trains, highways, etc. In addition to these assets, what also attracts Israeli tourists are the historical and cultural ties between the Israeli community of Moroccan origin (estimated at 1 million people) or the Jewish diaspora in the world and Morocco.

"Certainly, this is a solid foundation, but we will have to go beyond it by giving more meaning to this nostalgia inscribed in the attic of the imagination," said Ahmed Ghayet, secretary general of the Salam Lekoulam collective, whose honorary president is André Azoulay, advisor to King Mohammed VI, to L’Économiste.
