Morocco Emerges as Rising Aerospace Hub, Attracting Global Investors

The Moroccan aerospace sector is booming. The kingdom has significant assets to become a destination of choice for investors in this field.
In a recent article on the assets and prospects of the Moroccan aerospace industry, the magazine Forbes recalls that Morocco has invested significant resources to develop advanced industrial platforms, specialized training centers such as the Aerospace Trades Institute (IMA) and other infrastructure such as the Midparc Casablanca free zone, in order to attract domestic and foreign investors.
This strong commitment of the kingdom’s authorities to the development of this sector has borne fruit, notes the author of the article, Daniel Danino, an industrialist member of the Forbes Business Council, specifying that more than 140 investors have chosen to set up in Morocco. Due to its strategic geographical position, between Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Morocco is a "hub" for aerospace activities in the region, analyzes the American magazine, highlighting Morocco’s multiple partnerships with renowned aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier and Safran, established in the kingdom.
With its aerospace ecosystem made up, among others, of the Casablanca Technopark and Tanger Aerospace City, Morocco "is positioning itself to become an attractive destination for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services," says the author of the article. In 2022, Morocco signed a strategic partnership with Sabca and Sabena Aerospace, and the American manufacturer Lockheed Martin for the creation of Maintenance Aero Maroc (MAM), a state-of-the-art 15,000 m² MRO center for military aircraft and helicopters at Benslimane airport.
The company Aerotechnic, located in Agadir, also provides MRO services, as does the Moroccan-based company Glassbox Technologies, which uses smart glasses and augmented reality to provide intelligent maintenance systems, details Forbes, not forgetting "Tanger Tech, a newly created technology center for aerospace." To take advantage of the Moroccan aerospace platform, the author of the article invites investors to opt for a skilled workforce, to take advantage of the infrastructure provided by Midparc Free Zone, Tanger Tech and Technopark and to invest in research and development.
