Morocco Embassy Aids 150 Nationals Stranded at Istanbul Airport

Moroccans stranded at Istanbul airport can count on the Moroccan embassy in Ankara. They have been accommodated in hotels, pending the stabilization of the situation.
There are nearly 150 people who thought they could return to Morocco last Monday, but who remained stranded at Istanbul airport. The embassy explains that it is in discussion with the local authorities in order to receive their various grievances. It indicated that "representatives have been elected to communicate with them and transmit the messages of those who are blocked".
As a support to the most destitute among them, some Moroccans have also volunteered to cover their needs, and to buy them sterilization and protection products.
These Moroccans found themselves in this situation because the Moroccan authorities suspended flights to and from Turkey on March 14. This is a precautionary measure against the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. And since March 15, the country has entered a decisive phase by isolating itself from the world by suspending all flights to and from its territory.
