Morocco to Eliminate 800 Administrative Procedures, Simplifying Citizen Services

Based on Law 19-55 on the simplification of administrative procedures, the government plans to eliminate 800 administrative procedures that have no legal basis. This will simplify the lives of citizens.
Responding to an oral question from the Socialist parliamentary group in the House of Representatives, Ghita Mezzour, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, indicated that Law 19-55 on the simplification of administrative procedures includes several provisions allowing the elimination of 800 administrative procedures deemed to have no legal basis, reports Al Akhbar. The user will no longer have to provide only one copy of the file for administrative requests, she specified.
No more certification of the authenticity of the signature or legalization of certified copies will be required from users of public services. According to the minister, the law not only regulates the deadlines for processing requests and guarantees the user’s right to benefit from administrative appeal, but also recommends the obligation to digitize procedures and adopt electronic data exchange between administrations.
To carry out this project, Ghita Mezzour’s department wants to train 2,500 civil servants. It has also been decided to participate in the construction of the national administration portal, "Idarati". This is a digital platform that will allow citizens to have the necessary data for administrative decisions.
