Morocco’s Education Minister Warns COVID-19 Battle ’Not Over Yet’ as Cases Surge

Faced with the rapid spread of covid-19 observed since April 29, Said Amzazi, Minister of National Education, stated in a Facebook post that Morocco has not yet finished with the virus. He calls on the population to strictly respect preventive measures.
"Unfortunately, as this graph clearly shows, we are not yet safe. We thought last week that the epidemiological situation in our country was improving, that we were moving away from the danger phase and that we were controlling the situation. All Moroccans must understand that the battle is not over yet," he writes.
The Minister of National Education is far from being in a pessimistic mood. "We have accomplished a lot and we have avoided the worst with the solidarity of everyone. Let’s continue this resistance against the virus. To all Moroccans, we say that we must act with vigilance, awareness and responsibility, and more respect for confinement and the state of health emergency. And by applying preventive measures. Otherwise, we all have to assume responsibility."
As of May 12, the report shows 6,418 confirmed cases, 188 deaths and 2,991 recoveries.
