Morocco Eases Rules for Civil Servants Running in 2021 Elections

Exceptional authorizations must be granted to any administrative official, candidate in the next legislative elections next September.
This is an injunction from the Head of Government Saad Dine El Otmani, indicates a press release made public on Saturday.
The note specifies that civil servants wishing to run as candidates must benefit from flexible and equitable conditions for the preparation and filing of their files with the competent authorities, provided that this does not disrupt the normal functioning of public services.
Also, civil servants chosen by the list leaders or by the candidates to monitor the proper conduct of the vote in the polling stations must be granted permission to be absent.
Similarly, it is a question of allowing all executives, civil servants and agents working in the administrations and public establishments to fulfill their national duty by participating in the vote, concludes the press release.
