Morocco Eases Lockdown, but Mosque Reopenings Remain Uncertain

We know a little more about the resumption of certain activities in Morocco, with the new easing of lockdown measures. But the reopening of mosques is not mentioned for the time being.
The joint press release from the Ministries of the Interior, Health and Commerce and Industry was rather discreet about the fate of certain activities and especially rituals, including group prayer.
The ambiguity remains significant. By listing the various activities that will still be subject to restrictive measures, the press release omitted to mention the mosques. Unless they are subject to particular derogatory measures.
The Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs had indicated that the deconfinement of mosques will not be an easy matter, given the risk involved. For now, the many faithful are impatient to regain the pleasure of communal prayer and the sacred character of these places of worship.
