Morocco Eases COVID-19 Restrictions, But Health Ministry Warns of Potential New Surge

Despite the sharp drop in infection cases allowing for the easing of restrictive measures, a new wave of Covid-19 contamination remains possible, warned the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on Monday.
In a statement, the department of Khalid Ait Taleb indicated that the government has decided to ease collective precautionary measures, the resumption of all economic and social activities, taking into account the drop in positive cases, and the progress made in the national vaccination campaign.
Despite this rosy picture, the ministry notes that a new surge in cases remains likely. To this end, the ministry calls for compliance with preventive measures and barrier gestures, adherence to the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19, taking vaccine doses, as well as compliance with prevention and precaution measures (wearing masks, hygiene, use of hydroalcoholic gels, physical distancing).
Observing all these rules could prevent a relapse of serious cases and deaths, as is the case in many European countries. For the Ministry of Health, compliance with the rules and the national treatment protocol remains the only way for everyone to get through this.
