Morocco’s Domestic Worker Law Sees Low Compliance, Only 500 Contracts Filed

In total, 500 contracts were filed with the Ministry of Labor and Professional Integration, of which 250 are declared to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), more than a year after the entry into force of Law 19-12 relating to domestic staff. A meager harvest.
The figures are not up to the expected results. According to officials from the Ministry of Labor and Professional Integration, the number of contracts filed does not exceed 500. The recorded declarations, on the other hand, number 250, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
Faced with this rather gloomy picture, the Ministry of Labor and Professional Integration is currently conducting an awareness campaign on the provisions of Law 19-12 relating to domestic staff and the rights and duties of employees.
Continuing in this dynamic, correspondence has been sent to employers, inviting them to declare their staff to the CNSS.
