Morocco: 11 Doctors Test Positive for COVID-19 Amid Protective Equipment Concerns

11 doctors, including 7 in Casablanca, 2 in Rabat and 2 in Tétouan, were infected with the coronavirus, this Friday.
According to the president of the National Council of the Order of Physicians (CNOM), Mohammadin Boubekri, the health personnel are on the front line in the face of the covid-19 pandemic since they are in direct contact with the infected people.
As for a doctor who requested anonymity, the doctors who are on duty do not have protective masks at their disposal. "We may be infected and the clinical examination requires us to be very close to the patient. We take the risk; it’s our job, okay. But what about all the patients we risk infecting? Why don’t we have the right to tests when we have symptoms? It’s time to react," he said firmly.
He also reports that several doctors and paramedics have requested hotels so that the healthcare staff do not contaminate their entourage. The other handicap is that most of the nursing assistants and nurses do not have vehicles to go home.
