Morocco Dismantles Terrorist Cell Planning Attacks in Sidi Slimane

A new terrorist cell, planning terrorist acts, was dismantled in Sidi Slimane on Monday by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), announces a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
Active in the city of Sidi Slimane, the cell is composed of four "extremists", aged 23 to 51, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the initial investigations, the leader of this terrorist cell, who had been arrested in 2014 under the anti-terrorism law, was involved in the recruitment and sending of fighters to terrorist factions in Syria and Iraq. According to the BCIJ, he had recruited the elements of his cell, followers of the same extremist ideology, and was planning terrorist projects aimed at seriously undermining the security of citizens and destabilizing public order.
Furthermore, the operation to dismantle this network made it possible to seize electronic devices, large caliber bladed weapons, and a military uniform. To this collection of objects are added a mask as well as several manuscripts proving the suspects’ adherence to the thought of "Daesh", including a text of allegiance to the self-proclaimed former caliph, a photo representing the flag of this terrorist organization and publications inciting violence and legitimizing combat and suicide operations.
For the needs of the investigation, the four suspects were taken into custody.
