Morocco Deploys Drones to Monitor and Map Cannabis Cultivation in Northern Regions

After acquiring the latest generation of drones, Morocco has recently launched a surveillance and census operation of cannabis crops in several regions of the north of the country.
Local authorities are using drones to survey the land sown with cannabis in several cities in the north, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghrebia. These are aerial surveillance operations.
The objective is to control the evolution of cannabis cultivation with a precise census of the cultivated fields, but also the water points used for this cultivation, whether pumping from watercourses or wells dug for this purpose.
With the use of drones, no land will be inaccessible or difficult to access for the local authorities who, in the past, had difficulty monitoring this illegal activity in the north of the country.
Pending the eradication of cannabis cultivation - an activity that benefits around a million people - the time has come to hunt down drug traffickers.
