Morocco Deploys 300 French-Made Tactical Vehicles Along Sahara Security Wall

Morocco has received the full 300 light tactical vehicles ordered at the end of last year from the French manufacturer Arquus.
According to the specialized website Defensa, the deliveries began in June and were completed at the end of October, specifying that most of the new vehicles have been deployed on the Moroccan security wall under observation in the Sahara.
On its website, Arquus presents the VLRA as a family of light tactical vehicles sharing the same all-wheel drive chassis, designed specifically for military needs. This model is an evolution of the VLRA 1, sold in 12,000 units worldwide. It retains its ruggedness, its non-computerized variants, its autonomy, as well as its lowered swan-neck chassis facilitating its loading.
In terms of performance, the VLRA reaches 110 km/h on the road and has up to 1,200 km of range. A power that does not detract from its agility, the VLRA being able to withstand slopes of 60% and side slopes of 30%, explains the French manufacturer.
To recall, Morocco is modernizing its military arsenal to adapt to the new risks of instability in the Sahara region given the threats posed by the Polisario which announced its withdrawal from the 1991 ceasefire agreement after the events of El Guerguerat in November 2020.
