Morocco Denies Recalling Ambassadors from Saudi Arabia and UAE, Foreign Minister Says

When questioned again about the rumors of the recall of the kingdom’s ambassadors in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita described this information as "inaccurate".
According to the minister, this information "has no connection with diplomatic traditions, nor with Moroccan diplomatic practices", arguing that the recall of ambassadors is subject to precise and clear rules and that in the diplomatic relations of the kingdom "no ambassador is recalled without the publication of a press release and without explanation of the decision". Moreover, in the event of a recall, the Moroccan decision is notified to the country concerned.
However, Bourita acknowledged that the two ambassadors were indeed in Morocco at the time these reports were published and that they were there "to attend meetings" and since then they have both returned to their posts, while asserting that the "relations between Morocco and the Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are strong, historical and secular".
For the Moroccan Foreign Minister, the changes taking place in certain countries internally - Bourita did not specify which ones - are impacting "relations with the entourage of these countries and with other states, including Morocco", prompting the Moroccan authorities to hold meetings to be informed of the situation, adapt to it and prepare for it, as it is "a region with which Morocco does not have ordinary relations".
