Morocco Denies Easing COVID-19 Restrictions, Warns Against False Reports

The Ministry of Health issued a statement denouncing the allegations that several ministerial departments have decided to ease the restrictive measures, following the recording of an improvement in the indicators of the epidemiological situation.
The false press releases attributed to the Ministries of Health, Interior, and Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy, have been published on social media. The ministry denounces and warns against this kind of malicious rumors and reserves, it says, the right to take legal action against the perpetrators of these acts and their accomplices.
The Ministry of Health calls on the media to refer to official sources, rather than speculating about a gradual lifting of the restrictive measures. Morocco has adopted new measures since August 2 following the deterioration of the health situation in the country. Thus, a national curfew has been imposed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sports halls, hammams and indoor swimming pools have been closed, while the cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Agadir have been confined.
