Morocco Denies Accepting Earthquake Aid from Algeria, Foreign Minister Says

The information that Morocco has accepted Algeria’s aid following the magnitude 7 earthquake that mourned the kingdom is false.
In a statement to Assahifa, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, denied the information that Morocco had accepted aid from the Algerian authorities following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on September 8.
On Monday, the Algerian media Mena Defense claimed that the Algerian authorities had ordered emergency aid to help Morocco cope with the crisis caused by the Al Haouz earthquake and that rescue teams and shipments of medical and food aid were allegedly mobilized at the Boufarik military airport, where "one or more military cargo planes will be mobilized from 8 pm tonight".

For now, Morocco has only accepted aid from four countries: Spain, Qatar, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior indicated that as the intervention operation continues, a more in-depth assessment could lead to resorting to offers of aid from other friendly countries.
