Morocco’s PM Demands Apology from Lawmakers over Vaccine Criticism

The Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani demanded apologies from the parliamentarians who criticized the government on the vaccine. He hammered that what "we expect from everyone is commitment" and not "denigration and negativism".
"Some people, may God forgive them, have let themselves go by accusing the government of incompetence regarding vaccination. They even called on the government to resign. Taking advantage of this opportunity, we ask these people to apologize to the Moroccans," he launched before the House of Representatives on Monday, February 1st, during a plenary session devoted to the government’s policy of supporting the Moroccan product.
In the plenary session on January 19th, opposition parliamentarians had called on the government to resign because of the delay observed in the launch of the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus. This is now done. "It is true that the pandemic has posed many challenges to our country, but it also carries opportunities. And what we expect from everyone is commitment to this positive dynamic instead of denigration and negativism, as some have unfortunately done," insisted Mr. El Othmani.
Since January 28th, more than 200,000 Moroccans have received a first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
