Morocco Delivers Food Aid to Remote Mountain Communities Amid COVID-19 Lockdown

Several low-income families in the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region have received food aid. This, in order to help them alleviate the difficulties related to the state of emergency declared a few days ago in Morocco.
The food aid distribution operation initially targeted "the inhabitants of neighborhoods and douars located in mountainous areas under the communes of Tizi Nisli, Boutferda, Zaouiat Cheikh and El Ksiba, and will extend in the coming days to other communes in the region".
Significant logistical and human resources have been mobilized to ensure the delivery of aid to the beneficiaries, and this "in strict application of the preventive measures encouraging the populations to go into "confinement" mode and to go out only in case of extreme necessity".
This outpouring of solidarity was made possible thanks to the contribution and benevolence "of the benefactors of the region, civil society associations, public institutions and elected bodies".
