The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) is embarking on a crusade against fraud in the baccalaureate exam. Already two students in possession of dozens of sophisticated devices arrested in Tangier.
The DGSN is mobilizing against exam fraud, which continues to grow despite the measures taken by the Ministry of National Education. The terms of Law No. 13.02 provide for disciplinary sanctions ranging from deprivation of exams for a certain period, but also criminal penalties, with prison sentences of six months to five years, and the payment of a fine, the amount of which can vary between 5,000 and 100,000 dirhams.
An operation carried out by the judicial police elements of Tangier resulted on May 13 in the arrest of two students "who were about to supervise a vast cheating operation during the upcoming school exams," reports the Arabic-language daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. During the searches carried out at the homes of the two accused, the investigators proceeded to seize dozens of wireless sensors, smart watches and earphones, as well as adapted chargers for these contraband devices, in addition to several mobile phones.
The elements of the Tangier Judicial Police achieved this feat by monitoring announcements posted on social networks that exposed the sale of electronic devices intended to be used in exam fraud.
