Morocco’s COVID-19 Measures Averted 200 Daily Deaths, Prime Minister Says

The measures taken by the Moroccan government to counter Covid-19 have prevented a daily record of 200 deaths, according to Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani.
In a televised intervention on Thursday, the head of the Executive explained that the indicators are now good; which has allowed the kingdom to record more recoveries than deaths. Also, the recovery curve is rising to reach 38%.
These measures, which are confinement, restriction of movement, closure of the national airspace, closure of high schools, cafes and restaurants, and especially the curfew, have allowed Morocco to avoid the worst: 200 deaths per day, stressed Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Otmani.
Continuing his explanations, the head of government explained that the indicators are now good, in the sense that the kingdom is recording more recoveries than deaths.
According to the Prime Minister, Morocco has recorded a 3.3% mortality rate, while the global average is 7%, which is very good, he added, urging Moroccans to be patient and to comply more with the preventive instructions in order to overcome this crisis with the least damage.
