Morocco’s COVID-19 Cases Surpass 4,200 as Marrakech-Safi Region Nears 1,000 Mark

The toll of coronavirus (covid-19) infections in Morocco stands at 4,252 cases after the recording of 132 new cases.
To date, the number of people declared cured stands, as of Tuesday at 4 p.m., at 778, with 83 new remissions, while the number of deaths has risen to 165 after the announcement of three new deaths.
According to the epidemiology official at the Ministry of Health, 1,864 cases have been excluded after negative laboratory analysis results for a total of 26,998 since the start of the epidemic.
Regarding the geographical distribution, the ministry representative explained that no significant change has been observed, especially since the Casablanca-Settat region still has the largest number of cases of contamination (25% with 1,086 cases), followed by Marrakech-Safi (21% with 917 cases). Then come Fès-Meknès (534), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (544) and Drâa-Tafilalt (522) with almost an equal number of cases.
In addition, recovery cases have seen a gradual increase (18.3%).
