Morocco’s COVID-19 Cases Surge to 642, Death Toll Reaches 37

The Moroccan Minister of Health announced, on Wednesday, April 1, 40 new coronavirus infections, bringing the number of positive cases to 642 patients.
The number of deaths due to the virus stands at 37 with the recording of a single new death, while 2 more recoveries have been recorded, bringing the number of remission cases to 26. Among the cases of contamination, women represent 45% against 55% for men.
With a total of 181 cases, Casablanca-Settat is still the region most affected by the coronavirus in the kingdom, followed by the Marrakech-Safi region (115), of which 110 are in the city of Marrakech. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 112 contaminations, including 60 just for the city of Rabat. In fourth place is the Meknès-Fès region with 110 cases, including 49 in the city of Meknès.
As for the Laâyoune-Oued Eddahab region, it recorded its first two cases of coronavirus infection today. For the moment, the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region remains the only one to be spared by the virus.
